The National Portrait Gallery presents Obey: Shepard Fairey Posters
The National Portrait Gallery presents Obey: Shepard Fairey Posters. The exhibition which runs until 17 January 2010 is curated by
National Portrait Gallery Senior Curator Michael Desmond, and consists of
twenty-five poster images of subjects that Fairey believes have made a
major impact on popular culture worldwide. Featuring perhaps his best
known image of Obama/Hope from the 2008 U.S Presidential Campaign, the
exhibition also includes Warhol-inspired street posters from a diverse
range of subjects such as Tupac, Debbie Harry, Billy Idol, Joan Jett,
Prince, Andy Warhol, Guns and Roses and Aung San Suu Kyi. There will be
a media preview for Obey: Shepard Fairey Posters at 11am to 12pm,
Thursday 17 September 2009. The National Portrait Gallery
